Thought for the day

Well, summer festival tickets are on sale again, so we're getting the usual 10+ minute phone calls and hearing life stories from our many Anne-crazed Island visitors. Here are two comments with some Canadian content that I'm passing along for the educational benefits.
1. Fort Qu'apelle, Saskatchewan is a valley town named for an 'Indian' legend (I'm assuming Metis?)

2. In Fort McMurray Alberta, a cantaloupe costs you $8.
I just realized both comments mentioned prairie cities in Canada with Fort in the name. But they still aren't as good as the guest from Kalamazoo who actually sang 'I've got a girl' to me on the phone. Made my week.

Why did the newfie move his two feet over?
-He wanted to tighten the clothes-line.

A creepy old man told me that joke tonight, the second time that he called. The first time he called to find out how much tickets for George Fox are, he didn't buy any. He had a joke that time too, but I didn't hear the punchline. I didn't ask him to repeat it because the part of the joke preceding the punchline involved honey and sex and was more than enough to set off the dirty old man radar when combined with his other borderline creepy comments.
He called back 30 seconds later because he wanted to know how to say "George Fox" in french as well as to tell me the above joke. And to invite me to his upcoming birthday party.

In my head this seemed to fit as an appropriate comment to this post, but now that I've written it I see that it doesn't so much. Oh well.
