The Story of the Week
You all know that we get people with bizarre questions and requests almost daily here in the box office, I mean we've been asked for just about everything - including the kitchen sink. So it's really saying something that one of today's requests is definitely one of the top yet...
So you know how we don't offer exchanges on or after the day of the show, right? Well today we exchange tickets that someone had for a show that was 17 years ago. The show in question was the Nylons - December 18th 1989. Apparently there had been a snowstorm that night and people with tickets were told that they could be used the next time the Nylons are here (Lynn - can you confirm this?). Which happens to be this December. Ok, so of course people will save their tickets for a while but after a decade or so you'd think they'd throw them out. But even if they never got around to it - can you imagine 17 years later even remembering that you have those tickets? Remembering about them and then being able FIND them? Well of course - someone did. He brought in his five tickets from 1989, each one still in perfect condition - not even a hint of a fold line on any of them and we gave him five tickets for the Nylons this December. His 17 year old tickets had been $18.50 each but we didn't make him pay the difference.

So I'm claiming one of those for my archives. Who cares if it's not Anne, that's a DREAM customer. (It certainly tops the guy who forgot his tickets and had copies faxed).
Can anyone verify the snowstorm of 1989? Who else has been on staff that long...most of ours were still in diapers...
His story checks out - Lynn confirmed the snowstorm and that people had been told that they could use their tickets when the Nylons return next. Incidentally the Nylons actually returned next in 1992 but there was another storm.
