Congratulations!

On May 14, 2005 Deidre not only graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelors of Arts Degree, First class standing, but she was also elected by her classmates to represent them as Valedictorian. There’s a bit of her speech in Monday’s Guardian, but her words on the inclusion of all students, based on ethnicity or age, as well as her reminder to recognize our role internationally, through our interactions with students from other countries along with the opportunities to travels and the positive change that can bring about was an incredible message. She did a marvelous job and had many of us in tears (well, her mother and me anyway).
Of course, I told her I would have my camera:

Notice the trademark grin

Congratulations Deidre and the Class of 2005!
