Last Day

Hello All, I just thought I would leave a message for everyone, especially those that I missed before I left, and just say that this job has been absolutely amazing. The hardest part of my move will be not being able to see you guys anymore. I've loved this job SO much, and that is all thanks to the wonderful CCOA staff. Everyone's generosity and kindness has made for an incredible '06 and '07 season. I hope everyone has a great fall/winter, and I can't wait to see you at Christmastime!

I have a dream.

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

In a sense we have come to cash a check. When the architects of our party wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every snack food was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all snacks, yes, raisins as well as peanuts, and even candy coated M&M's would be guaranteed the unalienable right of partaking in delectable snack mixtures.
Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, parties have given raisins a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this party. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.


There will be neither rest nor tranquility at the party until raisins are granted their snack mixture rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of the party until the bright day of justice emerges.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all snack foods have been created equal."
I have a dream that my four little children will one day be able to attend a party and eat a party mix containg not just raisins mixed with peanuts, and M&M's. But perhaps even other types of dried fruit. Maybe, just maybe, we can even dream that other types of chocolate and nuts could integrate into the mix aswell.

I have a dream where the shackles of segregation can be shed. Where all these types of snacks can co-exist inside the same bowl.

I have a dream where raisins can live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by their content, flavour and texture.

I have a dream for this upcoming Saturday - August the 11th.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back home with. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our trail mix into a beautiful symphony of flavourhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to eat together, to stand up for raisins together, knowing that we will be free one day.

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My party, 'tis of thee, sweet land of raisins, of thee I sing.

And when this happens, When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every box office, every administration office and every foyer, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's snack foods, raisins, peanuts and M&M's, Dried fruits and cashews, will be able to join mixes and sing in the words of the old snacking spiritual, "Mixed at last! Mixed at last! thank God Almighty, we are mixed at last!"
P.S I didn't rip this off Martin Luther King. He ripped it off of me.

Fire at my house on Tuesday, August 14th, all BO's and FOH's welcome. Time would be from 9-12 or so, so please dress warmly and take a sleeping bag or a lawn chair to sit in.
